Dr.Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, RMUTP President, Outlines the University’s Three-Year Progress and Future Vision Towards International Standards.
Dr.Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), reflected on the university’s progress over the past three years and its future direction towards international standards. He emphasized RMUTP’s commitment to producing skilled graduates with expertise in science and technology through modern teaching methodologies. The university also strives to expand educational opportunities for all groups, aiming to develop a workforce that will drive the country’s future growth.
He acknowledged that the world is undergoing rapid and profound changes, with technology playing an increasingly vital role in human life. To remain relevant, RMUTP must continuously adapt and innovate. This transformation is being implemented across four key areas:
1. Academics – RMUTP has introduced the Credit Bank System, allowing individuals to accumulate academic credits based on skills, work experience, training, formal education, non-formal education, and self-learning. This initiative promotes lifelong learning by facilitating upskilling and reskilling, with full implementation expected by 2025. Additionally, the university is establishing an International College and strengthening global partnerships to support borderless education.
At the same time, RMUTP is developing a strategic plan to increase the number of international students, particularly from China, Laos, and Bhutan, as many students from these countries seek higher education opportunities in ASEAN, especially in Thailand, due to its accessible and affordable education system. To accommodate this demand, RMUTP is continuously improving its curricula. Furthermore, the university has organized International Week to strengthen its relationships with global academic partners.
Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) is advancing towards international standards by participating in global rankings, including QS Stars Rating, QS University Rankings, THE Impact Ranking 2024, and UI GreenMetric.
In its first participation in THE Impact Ranking 2024, RMUTP ranked No. 1 among Rajamangala universities in Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), joint 29th in Thailand, and joint 1st among Rajamangala universities overall. These achievements affirm RMUTP’s commitment to academic excellence and sustainable global education.
In terms of management, RMUTP has enhanced internal operations, implemented revenue-generating strategies, and introduced an electronic document system to improve efficiency.
For staff well-being, RMUTP follows the philosophy “Happy people, successful work.” The Happy University policy includes salary adjustments—1.7 times the entry-level government salary for academic staff and 1.5 times for support staff—along with employee engagement activities and retirement support to ensure job satisfaction.
In 2025, RMUTP will continue its commitment under the theme “20th RMUTP: Keep Going, Be All In,” focusing on achieving concrete results and adopting SDG strategies. The university aims to be carbon neutral by 2045 and reach Net Zero by 2060. Additionally, RMUTP aspires to be the first Animal Welfare-certified university in Southeast Asia, aligning with **SDG’s Life on Land** by using cage-free, chemical-free eggs across its campuses.
On educational quality, RMUTP aims to produce skilled, adaptable graduates who meet industry demands. The university upholds the principle:
“You can study anywhere, but at RMUTP, 100% of graduates must have jobs.”
Additionally, at 1:00 PM, RMUTP held a Four-Team Traditional Sports Event, where staff competed in futsal, chair ball, and tug-of-war, divided into four color teams—green, red, pink, and blue. This initiative fosters camaraderie and promotes physical and mental well-being, supporting RMUTP’s vision of a Happy University.
