The Faculty of Industrial Education, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), in collaboration with the Thailand Professional Qualification Institute (Public Organization) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), organized a short-term hands-on training program based on occupational standards for the profession of Migrant Worker Recruiter at Levels 4 and 5. The workshop was held from 6–7 November 2025 at The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam, with the aim of enhancing the capacity of professionals involved in migrant labor recruitment to ensure ethical, fair, and transparent practices in line with international standards. The opening ceremony was presided over by Asst. Prof. Dr.Sorasutee Buapool, Assistant President for Research and Innovation Development, RMUTP.
Asst. Prof. Dr.Sorasutee Buapool stated that this training program marked an important pilot collaboration among the three organizations, sharing a common objective to develop and elevate professional standards related to migrant labor. The program sought to strengthen participants’ knowledge and fundamental skills, including relevant laws, regulations, and procedures governing the recruitment, entry, and repatriation of migrant workers, as well as ethical recruitment principles. It also aimed to upskill and reskill personnel working in migrant labor recruitment. Over the two-day program, the training focused on both theoretical instruction and practical workshops, delivered by speakers from both public and private sectors. Notable speakers included Mr.Sukchok Mesaeng, Head of the Division for the Development of Foreign Worker Employment Control Systems, Department of Employment, who lectured on the Emergency Decree on the Management of Foreign Workers’ Employment B.E. 2560 (2017), as amended (No. 2) B.E. 2561 (2018); and Ms.Suthathip Rongsawat, President of the Employers’ Council of the SME Industry Federation of Thailand, who presented on coordination and relationship management with relevant agencies, as well as the facilitation of migrant workers’ entry into Thailand.
