RMUTP Partners with MEA to Advance Renewable Energy Development

Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) has signed a collaboration with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) to jointly develop and conduct research on renewable energy systems, as well as enhance the management of EV charging station systems

RMUTP and the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) signed an MoU to promote efficient energy management, educational collaboration, and the development of an Energy Conservation Learning Center. The signing ceremony, held on September 3, 2025, at RMUTP’s Thewet Campus, was presided over by Dr.Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of RMUTP, and Ms.Pattra Suwannadej, Deputy Governor of MEA (Metropolitan Electricity Authority) and Acting Managing Director of MEA Smart Energy Solutions Co., Ltd. (MEAei), with executives from both sides in attendance.

Dr.Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul emphasized that developing human resources to meet the needs of new industries is a key mission of RMUTP. The collaboration with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) will drive initiatives such as renewable energy system design, EV charging station research, and consulting on electrical engineering, supporting the university’s goal of becoming a Green University in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Ms.Pattra Suwannadej added that MEA, as a leading state enterprise in energy distribution, is committed to supporting RMUTP in advancing renewable energy solutions. This cooperation aims to promote sustainable growth, reduce carbon emissions, and position the university as a model for energy conservation and a Low Carbon Society.

Ms.Pattheera Sooknan, a student at Eastern Technological College (E-Tech) and representative of Team Muha Ha, shared that their winning short video, “Determination Against Drugs”, encourages youth to pursue their passions and stay focused without involving drugs. Unlike typical videos highlighting both the pros and cons of drugs, their clip delivers a positive message and motivates young people to follow their dreams. The team also used Computer Generated (CG) techniques, a specialty of their college, to creatively enhance the storytelling without relying on Generative AI. Ms Pattheera expressed her excitement and hope that the video will inspire the next generation to set goals, follow their interests, and stay drug-free, in line with the project’s theme “To Be Number One: Say No to Drugs”.
