Advancing the Development of “New-Generation Graduates” to Meet the Needs of Industry 4.0

Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) has joined forces with its partner networks to advance the development of “New-Generation Graduates” through a certificate (non-degree) program focusing on digital skills development using the Internet of Things (IoT), aimed at driving Industry 4.0 toward global competitiveness.

In an era where digital technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT) play a crucial role across all dimensions of operations, the industrial sector requires a workforce equipped with specialized skills. Such personnel must be capable of data analysis, system integration, and the effective application of technology to enhance production efficiency and product quality—key foundations for advancing Industry 4.0 and strengthening international competitiveness.

Accordingly, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon organized the New-Generation Graduate Program, a certificate (non-degree) program for Fiscal Year 2025, under the course titled “Digital Skills Development with IoT for the Future of Industry 4.0.” The opening ceremony was presided over by Dr.Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, Acting President of RMUTP, at the Institute of Digital and Robotics Interdisciplinary Studies, RMUTP, Phra Nakhon Nuea Center, on 20 November 2025.

The program also featured a special lecture on “Workforce Skills Development to Support Future Industries,” delivered by Dr.Anan Piayasinthchat, Director of Quality Management Systems, Asahi-Thai Alloy Co., Ltd., highlighting the importance of industry-driven skill development in preparing human resources for emerging industrial demands.

The New-Generation Graduate Program was organized by the Institute of Digital and Robotics Interdisciplinary Studies, with strong collaboration from the University’s internal and external partner networks. These included the Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Liberal Arts, the Office of Academic Promotion and Registration, the Gem and Jewelry Institute and Design, Asahi-Thai Alloy Co., Ltd., Talad Mai Chonburi Co., Ltd., and other partner organizations.

The program was conducted from 22 October 2025 to 27 February 2026, comprising academic lectures, hands-on practical training, and assessments based on established criteria. The implementation was supported by faculty members, subject-matter experts, and enterprises from relevant fields.

The objective of the program was to develop a workforce that responds effectively to the needs of modern industries, particularly in the sectors of smart electronics, robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI), which play a vital role in the economy and the country’s development direction. The program adopted new teaching and learning approaches and newly designed curricula under the smart electronics, robotics, and artificial intelligence industry cluster, emphasizing the acquisition of essential digital knowledge and skills for applying IoT technology in manufacturing processes and modern industrial systems.

This initiative aims to prepare Thailand’s industrial sector to advance toward Industry 4.0 with strong capabilities, while enhancing workforce competencies to effectively adapt to rapid technological changes and evolving industrial demands.
