The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Ministry of Public Health organized the 2024 National Conference on Health Product Consumer Protection under the theme “Co-creator: Proactive Co-creation.” This event served as a platform for presenting the work of health product consumer protection networks across the country, focusing on health product innovations through multi-sectoral integrated collaboration, aimed at driving the country’s health economy. The conference took place from August 7 – 9, 2024, at the IMPACT Forum Building, Muang Thong Thani. Faculty members and students from the Faculty of Home Economics Technology participated in the presentations with the following details:
– Poster presentation by Asst. Prof. Dr. Supuksorn Masavang, Lecturer of Food Technology Program, presented research on “The Development of Thong Yod (a traditional Thai dessert) Production Using Hydrocolloids.”
– Presentation of 2 outstanding innovative health products:
1.“Instant Southern-style Rice Salad Sauce” by Mr. Vinai Boonphob, Ms. Premwadee Jaroenpontawornsuk, and Ms. Fonthip Muenkhamjan, students of the Food Service Industry program
2. “Low-Sodium Salt Chili Paste” by Ms. Tanyatorn Aiemtim, Ms. Nattaporn Kamnoed, and Ms. Panadda Duangyim, students in the Food Service Industry program
Both projects were advised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sansanee Thimthong as the main advisor with Asst. Prof. Dr. Nanoln Dangsungwal, lecturer of the Food Service Industry Program, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Supuksorn Masavang, lecturer of the Food Technology Program as co-advisors.
In this regard, students of the Food Service Industry Program, Faculty of Home Economics Technology received 2 runner-up awards from the Outstanding Innovative Health Product Presentation Contest on August 9, 2024, at IMPACT Forum Building, Muang Thong Thani.
