Faculty of Liberal Arts Welcomes Visiting Professors from the People’s Republic of China to Strengthen International Academic Collaboration

On August 4, 2025, the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, held the opening ceremony of the International Partner University Collaboration Project for the exchange of Visiting Professors. The event was presided over by Asst. Prof. Dr.Prin Boonkanit, Vice President, who delivered the opening remarks and warmly welcomed the Visiting Professors from Nanning Vocational and Technical University (NVTU), People’s Republic of China—Professor Dr. Lu Shenghui and Miss Zhang Yun—who joined this academic exchange program.

The welcoming reception was also attended by Asst. Prof. Dr.Yutthapoom Suwannavej, Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, along with executives, faculty members, Chinese and Thai students of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, and staff from the International Affairs Division, Policy and Planning Division. The event took place in Room LA102, Hotel and Tourism Operations Building, Faculty of Liberal Arts. The purpose of this exchange program is to strengthen academic collaboration and further sustain educational and cultural cooperation between the two institutions, particularly in the field of Applied Thai Language. The Faculty of Liberal Arts has developed a joint curriculum with Nanning Vocational and Technical University (NVTU) to promote student exchanges, training programs, and the sharing of knowledge in Applied Thai Language for Professional and Communication Innovation. This initiative has been continuously implemented for Chinese students for 18 years

Under this program, the Visiting Professors will teach students of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Applied Thai Language Program, from August 4–9, 2025, on the theme “Human-AI Relationships: How to Use AI Wisely.” This will serve as a platform for the exchange of knowledge in language, technology, and contemporary communication.

Professor Dr.Lu Shenghui, an expert in Artificial Intelligence technology, will deliver lectures on topics including an overview of AI, text generation, PowerPoint creation, voice-to-text translation and meeting content summarization, data table creation, image generation and processing, music creation, video creation, digital human creation, personal knowledge base development, and the creation of Smart Agent systems.

Ms.Zhang Yun will present on topics including cross-cultural communication: Chinese culture, Chinese phonetics and pronunciation practice, Chinese for tourism and the hospitality industry, Thai–Chinese translation, Thai for e-commerce livestreaming, the application of AI in Thai for cross-border e-commerce livestreaming, and teaching Thai as a foreign language.

Students participating in the program will benefit from the professors’ international academic expertise and experience, enhancing their knowledge, skills, and competencies, and increasing their opportunities to enter the professional world with confidence in the future.

The visit of these professors from China forms part of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon’s efforts toward internationalization, which will pave the way for sustainable cooperation in teaching and learning, research, and the ongoing development of both students and staff.
