Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) organized a workshop seminar titled “Strategic Direction Adjustment towards an Urban Technology University for a Wellbeing Society”, along with a review of the 2025 RMUTP Strategic Plan. The event was held from July 8 to 9, 2025, at the Panurangsi Room, Royal River Hotel, Bangkok.

Dr.Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of RMUTP, presided over the opening ceremony and remarked that modern higher education institutions are facing multifaceted challenges. Therefore, rapid adaptation in alignment with the evolving context is essential. RMUTP has developed its 14th Strategic Plan (2025–2029), which brings together senior and mid-level administrators as well as university personnel to collaboratively analyze strategies and define performance indicators. The plan emphasizes leveraging the university’s strengths in both social sciences and sciences, integrating them with technology and innovation to drive progress effectively.
Dr.Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul further stated that this strategic plan is designed to align with the university transformation policy set by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. Under this policy, higher education institutions are categorized into different groups, with RMUTP placed in Group 2, which focuses on technological development and innovation promotion.

The strategic framework has been aligned with eight key indicators that serve as tools to drive institutional transformation. These indicators include:
- Entrepreneurial students and graduates
- Awards for entrepreneurs
- External funding supporting the creation of entrepreneurs and new businesses
- Academic staff exchanging knowledge with the business/industrial sectors
- A technology and innovation ecosystem that accelerates entrepreneurial development within higher education institutions
- Curricula and specialized programs incorporating technology and innovation for entrepreneurial development
- Budget allocations for technology and innovation to support entrepreneurship within universities
Partnerships with business and industry sectors to foster entrepreneurship and innovation
Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Prin Boonkanit, Vice President of RMUTP, added that this strategic workshop aims to realign the university’s development in response to the changing global landscape. Budget allocation remains a critical resource for this transformation; hence, seeking new sources of income requires dedication, determination, and commitment from everyone within the organization.
He emphasized that human resource quality—especially students who will soon become a key workforce in industry and a driving force in the national economy—must be enhanced. In line with this, the university organized the workshop “Aligning Our Vision: Moving RMUTP Forward Together”, which focused on two main topics: New Startups and Knowledge Exchange. These sessions encouraged administrators and staff to collaborate in analyzing and presenting ideas that will contribute to a concrete and actionable strategic plan.
