On May 27, 2022, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) – Phranakhon, along with the university’s executives, participated in a project aimed at developing the potential of disabled individuals in Chana District, a border province in the southern region of Thailand. The event was organized to support necessary items and education funds for disabled people, as well as to provide leadership and encouragement to students who act as role models in the network community.
The project was hosted by the Foundation for the Development of Disabled Persons, the 31st Air Force Officer Society, and the Air Force Housewives Association. The goal was to create a volunteer network of students who can lead initiatives to enhance the capabilities of disabled individuals and disabled leaders in Chana District, thus playing a significant role in assisting vulnerable groups, especially the large number of disabled people in the southern border province, to improve their quality of life.
Currently, the faculty is working on continuous development of the project, focusing on essential social welfare provisions such as community transportation systems for disabled individuals, establishing assistant systems for disabled people, and creating job opportunities and careers for disabled individuals. In the past, RMUTP – Phranakhon signed a collaboration agreement with the Foundation for the Development of Disabled Persons, emphasizing equal educational opportunities for development. This collaboration serves as a valuable opportunity to promote quality education and equality within society.
RMUTP collaborates with students to establish a volunteer network of student leaders for enhancing the capacity of people with disabilities in the southern border provinces of Thailand.
