
RMUTP Explores the Heritage of “Si Sao Thewet” Through Art and Architectural Wisdom
BANGKOK – The Arts and Culture Division of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) organized a cultural wisdom collection project to foster awareness of architectural heritage among staff and students. A highlight of the event was a seminar titled “Exploring the Historic District of Si Sao Thewet,” held on February 16, 2026, at the Raphiphattananusorn Arts and Culture Gallery.
The seminar featured esteemed guest speakers, including Professor Emeritus Ornsiri Panin from the Faculty of Architecture, Silpakorn University; Professor Emeritus Dr. Weera Inpantang, an independent scholar specializing in vernacular architecture; and Dr. Khomkhate Pedcharat, Vice President of RMUTP, who shared their expertise and exchanged insights on the area’s historical significance.
In addition to the discussion, the event showcased an exhibition of local architectural drawings featuring the Thewet community. These artworks, created by students from the Faculty of Architecture and Design, RMUTP, beautifully captured the district’s historical charm through diverse perspectives.
Dr.Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, Acting President of RMUTP, presided over the opening ceremony and emphasized that the preservation of arts and culture is a core mission of the university. “RMUTP is committed to encouraging our personnel and students to engage in the study, research, and hands-on practice of cultural preservation,” said Dr.Natworapol. “This exhibition of student drawings not only highlights the aesthetic beauty of the Thewet community’s architecture but also reflects the multi-dimensional history and local wisdom that we must cherish and sustain.”
