On October 26, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., His Majesty the King graciously bestowed the royal Kathin robe upon Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) to present to the monks who had completed their three-month rains retreat at Wat Surachayaram (Lum Din), a royal monastery in Ratchaburi Province. A celebration ceremony was held, presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr.Nattachote Rugthaicharoencheep, Vice President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon,. The ceremony began with the lighting of incense and candles to pay homage to the Triple Gem, followed by an official leading the recitation of the precepts. The monks then chanted blessings, and 15 monks recited the sacred scriptures during the celebration of the royal Kathin robe. The presiding official and ceremony representatives presented offerings to the monks, who then delivered blessings. The ceremony concluded with the pouring of water as a dedication of merit and the granting of blessings.
The Royal Kathin Robe Offering Ceremony was held on October 27, 2024, to uphold the tradition of Kathin offerings in Buddhism. The event was presided over by Asst. Prof. Dr.Kasidech Sutthivanich, Vice President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, who offered the royal Kathin robe, accompanied by the university’s administrators and personnel, Ms.Waristha Sanguansermsri, Deputy Governor of Ratchaburi Province, and Mr.Sutthipong Phutchantra, District Chief of Mueang Ratchaburi District.
In addition, alumni and personnel of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, as well as other devoted individuals, contributed donations in support of the royal merit-making ceremony, totaling 489,000 baht. The funds raised from this Kathin offering will be used by the temple for the maintenance of religious structures, with a portion allocated for the support of Benjamarachutit Ratchaburi School and Wat Tha Khlong School.
