
On December 12, 2024, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon received a certificate for its ranking in the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking 2024, placed 616th globally and 36th in the country. This marks an improvement from 1050th in 2022 and 881st in 2023. The university ranked 15th in the Education & Research category.
According to the sustainability management assessment in the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon achieved an overall efficiency of 63.05%. The scores in various categories are as follows:
Infrastructure (Setting & Infrastructure: SI) scored 790/1500 or 52.6%, Water (Water: WR) scored 350/1000, Energy & Climate Change (Energy & Climate Change: EC) scored 1165/2100 or 55.48%, Transportation (Transportation: TR) scored 1350/1800 or 75%, Waste (Waste: WS) scored 975/1800 or 54.17%, Education & Research (Education & Research: ED) scored 1675/1800 or 93.06%.
In the Education & Research category, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon achieved nearly perfect scores in almost every area. The ED Ranking is based on the university’s data regarding policies and initiatives to create and support awareness of sustainability among students, academic staff, and non-academic personnel. This criterion also encourages universities to report their sustainability activities, strategies, and goals to the public. The assessment includes 11 areas:
The ratio of sustainability courses to total courses/modules, The ratio of sustainability research funding to total research funding, The number of sustainability-related academic publications, The number of sustainability-related activities, The number of sustainability-related activities organized by student organizations annually, The sustainability website maintained by the university, The sustainability report, The number of cultural activities within the university, The number of sustainability projects with international collaboration, The number of community service projects for sustainability involving students, and The number of sustainability-related start-ups. However, the criteria used in the UI GreenMetric Ranking are internationally recognized standards that demonstrate the university’s commitment to environmentally friendly management and sustainable development. The university aims to continuously improve its ranking, with the goal of reaching the top 100 globally. To achieve this, the university will work on enhancing its performance across the six evaluation categories mentioned above.
