RMUTP showcases its potential at ‘The Kingdom of Flavors’: Igniting the Future of Global Tourism and Hospitality, Supporting Thailand’s Soft Power Policy through Thai Cuisine.

On May 14, 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr.Prin Boonkanit,, Vice President of RMUTP, along with                     Dr. Chalakorn Udomraksasakul, Director of Institute of Research and Development, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapop Soteyome, Dean of the Faculty of Home Economics Technology, and RMUTP executives and faculty members, attended the opening ceremony of “Realm of Flavor: Inspiring the Future of Global Tourism and Hospitality.”

The event was presided over by Mr.Supachai Jaisamut, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, who also delivered key policy directions to drive the development of the tourism and hospitality industries. This visit was part of MHESI’s on-site follow-up on the progress of regional collaborative networks, including RMUTP, Suan Dusit University, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Silpakorn University, Dusit District Office, and Bang Phlat District Office.The event took place at Hall 2, Chalermphrakiat Building, Suan Dusit University.

The event featured four key activities, including an exhibition on “Culinary Tourism and Local Ingredients”, where Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) showcased a Thai aromatic product demonstration by Mr.Kitti Yod-on, lecturer in Applied Home Economics, and his students from the Faculty of Home Economics Technology. The exhibition also included contributions from 11 partner organizations.

Other highlights included:

  • A panel discussion titled “Flavours of Experience: Serving Thailand’s New Tourism and Hospitality” featuring speakers from Suan Dusit University, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, RMUTP, and the Creative Culture Promotion Office.
  • A Street Food exhibition by culinary students from Suan Dusit University.
  • The exhibition “Realm of Flavor: Where Innovation Meets Cultural Roots”, which presented Thailand’s rich culinary heritage.

Mr.Supachai Jaisamut, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, stated during the opening that tourism and hospitality play a crucial role in Thailand’s economic and social development. He emphasized that Thai cuisine is a powerful soft power tool, reflecting Thai identity and culture, offering unforgettable experiences to global visitors. The diversity of regional Thai cuisine enhances tourism-related businesses and supports cultural tourism activities such as cooking classes, market tours, and food festivals—boosting grassroots economic growth. This event, he noted, marks the beginning of strong collaboration among universities and partners to drive sustainable development in food, tourism, and hospitality sectors.
