RMUTP teaches how to make popular desserts: Macarons and Timberings.

The Technology Clinic Center, Institute of Research and Development, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) organized the 4th  project of technology information consultation and service by organizing a lecture and training on the technology of making macarons and timberings, which was honored by Asst. Prof. Sasithorn Pomchiangphin, lecturers from the Faculty of Home Economics Technology, to share their knowledge at the Faculty of Home Economics Technology (Chotiwet Center) on June 14, 2024, which was attended by 20 interested participants.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Chanthana Paphattha, Deputy Director of Academic Services, Institute of Research and Development, RMUTP, revealed that the unit aims to transfer knowledge and uplift communities, community enterprises, and small and medium-sized entrepreneurs by bringing research results, inventions, innovations, and technologies in which the university has expertise to transfer through academic services. Each year, there will be a training to create careers for communities and the general public who are interested in order for people in the community to have additional income. Each training will survey the needs of the community and the popularity of the subject, which will allow participants to gain new knowledge to further their careers.

Ms. Kittiya Wongkhung, the current owner of Kittiya Bakery in Nakhon Pathom Province, said that she has opened a bakery for more than 8 years, which offers a variety of products. The highlight of the shop is the fresh young coconut bakery. However, with the changing consumer trends, there is a lifestyle that emphasizes convenience, delicious taste, appetizing appearance, and healthy desserts, which has resulted in increased competition in the market. Therefore, in order for the shop to develop consistently and have more bakery menus to meet the needs of customers, she is interested in developing her skills. By joining the training on making macarons and timberings, which are very popular desserts and are currently trending on social media, she gained a lot of knowledge and techniques, such as selecting the type of ingredients to use to get different textures and flavors, selecting bakery ingredients that are mindful of health and have natural ingredients, and not using synthetic substances or preservatives, which will create a new customer base when sold.
