The nine Rajamangala Universities of Technology have aligned their strategic plan with the Ministry’s policy, focusing on sustainable workforce and research development to meet industrial and national goals.

On April 24, 2025, Lt. Gen. Chainarong Kitrungrojcharoen, Vice Chair of the University Council acting on behalf of the Chair, along with Dr.Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of RMUTP, executives, faculty, and staff, attended a policy briefing led by Ms.Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. The event took place at Hilton Hua Hin during the “RMUTs Strategic Retreat” and aimed to align the development direction of the nine Rajamangala Universities of Technology with national strategies and ministry policies. The focus is on transitioning towards becoming workforce-driven universities responsive to industrial transformation and future national needs. Key participants included leaders from RMUT Council and strategic planning committees.

On this occasion, Ms.Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, emphasized that the nine Rajamangala Universities of Technology play a key role in developing skilled practitioners, applied research, and area-based innovation. In today’s rapidly changing world, the “9 RMUTs Strategic Retreat” serves as a platform to align strategic plans with national development and ministry policies. She highlighted the “MHESI for AI” policy, particularly the AI for Education initiative, which aims to equip Thais to both use and develop AI ethically and effectively. The goal is for 90% of graduates to have foundational AI knowledge and 50% to be proficient users by their second year, with 30,000 AI professionals trained within three years. The Ministry is committed to supporting all nine universities in enhancing education quality, research, innovation, and sustainable local and national development.

Assoc. Prof. Dr.Udomvit Chaisakulkiet, Chair of the Council of Rajamangala University Presidents, stated that the “9 RMUTs Strategic Retreat” provides a platform for executives and stakeholders to exchange views, assess strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges, and foster collaboration among the nine universities. The goal is to develop a clear, actionable strategic plan that enhances the universities’ capacity in workforce development, research, and innovation, while boosting national competitiveness. He added that all nine RMUTs will jointly advance the Ministry’s AI University initiative by integrating AI into teaching and learning, equipping students with AI literacy and future-ready skills.
