The Division of Arts and Culture, under the General Affairs Office of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, hosted a singing contest featuring royal compositions by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great. The event, part of the “Tradition and National Significance” program for Father’s Day 2024, was presided over by Associate Professor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nattachote Rugthaicharoencheep, Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Faculty Development, on November 29, 2024, at D-Hall Auditorium, Thewet Campus.
This event commemorated the 97th anniversary of the birth of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great on December 5, 2024, which is also observed as National Day and Father’s Day. The contest aimed to honor His Majesty’s immeasurable grace, highlight his musical genius, and inspire students to follow his example. Through the royal composition singing contest, young people gained insight into the extraordinary talents and legacy of His Majesty, which continue to be cherished by the Thai people.
The contest featured a distinguished panel of judges, including:
- Mr.Kamol Thapkhallai, a renowned songwriting expert
- Mr.Wut Wongsansern, former producer of The Voice Thailand Seasons 1–8
- Assoc. Prof. Dr.Daranee Thanyasiri, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication Technology, RMUTP
Eight RMUTP students participated in the competition, with the following results:
- First Prize: Ms.Atchariya Jindawong, Faculty of Mass Communication Technology, for the royal composition The Impossible Dream (A cash prize of 5,000 baht)
- Second Prize: Mr.Phongsathorn Pharatana, Faculty of Mass Communication Technology, for the royal composition Blue Day (A cash prize of 3,000 baht)
- Third Prize: Ms.Denthida Thawornkul, Faculty of Business Administration, for the royal composition Near Dawn (A cash prize of 2,000 baht)
- Honorable Mentions: Ms.Natthathida Phaphon, Ms.Sathita Jansuwan (both from the Faculty of Business Administration), and Ms.Ornarin Klinbua (Faculty of Engineering), each receiving 1,000 baht.
The event successfully showcased the musical heritage of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great while fostering appreciation among the younger generation for his timeless contributions.
