The event featured a procession of the Overall Championship Royal Trophy, graciously bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, alongside cheerleader performances and the official unveiling of the competition’s mascot, logo, and theme song.

The press conference was held at the Mongkol Apha 3 Meeting Room, Mongkol Apha Building, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (Bangkok Commercial Campus) on January 7, 2026.

Asst. Prof. Dr.Kasidech Sutthivanichstated that the 40th Rajamangala University of Technology National Games, “Phra Nakhon Games,” aims to develop students’ athletic skills, with a strong emphasis on sportsmanship—knowing how to win, lose, and forgive—and fostering unity. This will be beneficial in developing students’ physical and mental well-being. Most importantly, it aims to forge strong bonds of friendship among all nine Rajamangala Universities of Technology, which include: Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, and Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok. RMUTP is deeply honored to host the competition, which is scheduled to take place from February 9-15, 2026.

Asst. Prof. Dr.Kasidech Sutthivanich further noted that Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has graciously bestowed the Royal Trophy to the university that secures the highest number of gold medals, a tradition that began in 2006. Therefore, this sports festival is regarded as a highly prestigious competition that garners significant attention from Thai society annually.

Mr.Chalong Apiwong stated that the “Phra Nakhon Games” will welcome over 3,000 participants competing in 12 sports. The events will be held at RMUTP and external venues, including Chulalongkorn University (which will also host the opening ceremony), RMUTK, and Nonthaburi Provincial Stadium. Additionally, the games will feature various side events such as the RMUT 2026 pageants, band competitions, and cheerleading contests.

The official logo, designed by Dr.Pimjutha Pikulthong, symbolizes the unity of the nine RMUT institutions. It elegantly incorporates the nine universities’ colors, Bangkok’s iconic landmarks, modern typography, and the event name on RMUTP’s signature purple background.

Furthermore, the Phra Nakhon Games also prioritize environmental friendliness, aligning with the university’s vision as an educational institution driving green innovation (Green University). The university has collaborated with Thai Smile Bus Co., Ltd. to provide electric buses (EVs) for transporting athletes during the competition. It is also joining forces to drive the “ECOLIFE in U” project, in accordance with the policy of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI). This initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of achieving carbon neutrality and protecting the environment through efficient waste management. Key actions include campaigning for waste separation at the source, disposing of garbage properly in designated bins, reducing plastic consumption, and utilizing digital information instead of paper.

For this year’s Phra Nakhon Games, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) is supported by the other eight RMUT institutions and the RMUTP Alumni Association. The official main sponsors providing apparel and sports equipment are Grand Sport Group Co., Ltd. and Marathon (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
