BANGKOK, February 16, 2026 – Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) recently hosted a cultural exchange program to celebrate the Chinese New Year and strengthen the bonds of Thailand’s vibrant multicultural society.
Lieutenant General Chainarong Kitrungrojcharoen, Vice President of the University Council, acting on behalf of the Chairman, presided over the opening ceremony at the HRH Prince Ratchaburi Direkrit Monument, RMUTP Thewet Campus. Joining him were Dr.Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, Acting President of RMUTP, along with university executives, staff, and students.
The program, titled “Auspicious Year of the Horse: Cultural Community Celebration,” featured key activities designed to enhance understanding of Thai-Chinese heritage:

- Expert Workshop: Dr.Puttipong Lekhachaiworakul, Assistant to the President, served as the keynote speaker. He led an insightful session on “Chinese Culture in the Thai Way of Life,” demonstrating the traditional art of arranging ceremonial offerings for Chinese New Year deities.
- Cultural City Tour: Participants joined a guided walking tour to explore the diverse multicultural landscape surrounding the Prince Ratchaburi Direkrit Palace. The group visited several sacred community sites to pay respects and seek blessings, including:
- Mae Sai Shrine (Thewarat Market)
- Thewet Shrine
- Chao Pho Si Sao Thewet Shrine
This initiative is part of RMUTP’s commitment to promoting a “Learning Society.” By engaging with the local community’s history and religious diversity, the university aims to foster mutual respect and deeper integration within Thailand’s multi-ethnic and multi-religious social fabric.
