RMUTP Partners with BDE to Elevate Knowledge and Integrate Advanced Technologies

BANGKOK – The Office of the National Digital Economy and Society Commission (ONDE) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) and a consortium of leading educational institutions. This landmark collaboration aims to develop a government platform dedicated to digital skill enhancement, fostering a “Learn to Earn” ecosystem that promotes lifelong learning and income generation. The signing ceremony took place at the Asawin Ballroom A, Asawin Grand Convention Hotel, where Dr.Kompan Chomsamutr, Assistant to the President of RMUTP, represented the university in signing the agreement alongside Mr.Wetang Phuangsup, Secretary-General of the National Digital Economy and Society Commission.

This partnership brings together a powerful network of educational institutions, including eight Rajamangala Universities of Technology, Chiang Mai University, Kasetsart University, Khon Kaen University, Mahidol University, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Srinakharinwirot University, Thammasat University, Burapha University, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, Krirk University, and Chitralada Technology Institute.

Elevating Digital Competency via “Learn to Earn” The primary objective of this MOU is to upgrade the digital competencies of personnel and students within the Thai education system to meet international standards. By integrating knowledge, technology, and data management across agencies, the initiative seeks to:

Bridge the Skills Gap: Educational institutions will provide experts to define competency frameworks aligned with the demands of the modern digital labor market.

Implement a National Credit Bank: The collaboration will link Credit Bank systems, allowing citizens to accumulate learning units and competencies from various sources—including vocational schools, universities, and private institutes—ensuring seamless credit transfers throughout their careers.

Promote Lifelong Opportunities: The “Learn to Earn” platform will empower students and the public to learn, develop, and create career opportunities continuously.

Dr.kompan Chomsamutr stated that RMUTP’s role is crucial in providing academic expertise to analyze and refine curricula. This ensures that educational offerings are not only theoretically sound but practically applicable in the fast-evolving digital economy.

This collaboration serves as a vital foundation for driving Thailand’s digital economy, creating inclusive opportunities for all citizens, and enhancing the nation’s potential in the true digital age.
